••• As expected, grand old 1 Wall Street is being converted; it “will have approximately 350,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floors and close to 800,000 square feet of residential up top, split evenly between rentals and for-sale properties.” Maybe Tribeca Citizen should rent the Red Room (above) for an office…. ••• The Tribeca Trib got the full scoop on Man of the World‘s plans for the four-story building at 1 White Street (whose involvement was first revealed here in September): a menswear store with furniture and watches, along with a juice/coffee bar, custom tailor, barber shop, and concierge service. Owner Alan Maleh, “evangelist for classy machismo and savoir faire”—that’s the Trib’s phrase, not (necessarily) Maleh’s—evidently said nothing about his plans for the roof. (Photo courtesy Andrea.)

The base of One Wall Street would make the perfect home for Nordstrom who is strongly rumored to be on the hunt for 250,000 sf of space for a FiDi store. There is no better location than this stunning landmark, smack in the middle of the Financial District and the resurgent Broadway corridor with easy access to mass transit and the entire area’s office inventory filled with potential customers. I would be SHOCKED if this doesn’t happen. :-)

According to StreetEasy, someone paid $4.2 million in 2013: http://streeteasy.com/closing/9852572
