••• Which of these sample façade materials for Robert A.M. Stern’s new condominium at 268 West do you prefer? Click to see them larger.
••• Speaking of northwest Tribeca, Bradley Cooper is rumored to be mulling an apartment there.
••• When I said demolition was going on at 396 Broadway, I meant it. Last we heard, it’s being converted to a hotel, but I wonder, given the condo fever in that area. Know anything? UPDATE: Thanks to James for checking the DOB filings (didn’t occur to me; not sure why—possibly because I spend too much time on that site). It looks to me like half the building will have hotel rooms up to the 10th floor, while the rest will be condos—and that they’re splitting it into eastern/western sections (instead of, say, just putting condos on the upper floors). I’ve asked James in the comments if he has the same impression.
••• Wyeth’s new storefront on Canal is looking very nice—but you knew it would.
••• The “Cast-Iron Inversion” at 83 Walker (rendering here) is coming along. It’ll be nine stories when done.

Thanks — but does this make sense to you? Are we deducing that half (eastern or western) will be hotel and half will be condo? It looks like they’re splitting it that way vs lower floors and higher floors…?
Don’t know anything about condo.
I do recall walking pass the building sometime last year and saw a notice on the door saying that it would a hotel and that it would apply for a liquor license.
Yes, that was discussed a couple of times at CB1 Tribeca. They wanted to sever alcohol on the roof, which CB1 opposed.
