The restaurant from Japan didn't work out for the former Nobu space. A friend has an office in the bldg. They negotiated for 9 months before the deal fell through- so now the bldg is jacking up the monthlies for everyone in the building because they didn't expect the vacancy. He added the leading contender for the main Nobu space is an all women's boxing gym, which just seems sad. — Becky on Seen & Heard: Japanese Steakhouse Opening Here?
They mechanically dismantle the buildings. Implosions and wrecking-balls are forbidden in NYC. — James on Seen & Heard: Goodbye, Old Buildings
This stuff is not only in the streets, but in the river directly adjacent from 70 Vestry. It has been floating down every day as they finish the edges of insulation. Entirely irresponsible and such a mess. Pretty sure birds aren't happy about it either. — Derin on Nosy Neighbor: What’s the White Stuff All Over Northwest Tribeca?
How and when are they going to demolish those buildings? Do they use a wrecking ball? Hopefully not explosives! — KP on Seen & Heard: Goodbye, Old Buildings
I still miss Saleya restaurant in the building that's a goner — Bruce on Seen & Heard: Goodbye, Old Buildings
I do not think this is correct. As I recall, the reservoir and the well and other property of the Manhattan Company was located at the on the site of the Surrogate's Court at 31-33 Chambers Street and directly north of that on the other side of Reade Street. — James on In the News: Inside Grand Old 49 Chambers

That thingamabob is probably the cooling tower, and those louvers probably close. Just in case of another terror attack, the louvers can close and prevent any toxic dust etc. from entering the AC system and recirculate throughout the building. Just a guess. — Maryann Keegan on Seen & Heard: Goodbye, Old Buildings
Yes , a dog run would be a great addition to the neighborhood. — Odin on Seen & Heard: Hoping for an East Tribeca Dog Run

My writing about the carts wouldn't change a thing. (And I agree there are too many.) You have to contact CB1 and our city councilmember, Margaret Chin. — Erik Torkells on New Building Report Card: 30 Park Place

Please write about the filthy food carts that are plaguing Tribeca including the one parked outside of 30 park — DY on New Building Report Card: 30 Park Place
Just saw a 1st Precinct SUV marked "supervisor" (and the number 3799) make this illegal right turn with lights flashing, as if that made it okay. Do as I say, not as I do. — James on Seen & Heard: The 1st Precinct’s Dangerous Shortcut

Poke, childrens' stores and steakhouses - this neighborhood is becoming inundated. BTW, a foodie friend tells me that the best steakhouse in Japan is likely to open a place in the neighborhood soon. Perhaps in old Dylan Prime or Nobu spaces?? I like all of the poke selections because it is very healthy. — Joe on The Great Poke Rush Continues
I've been in touch with DanceBody about it. Hoping to hear back this week. — Erik Torkells on DanceBody Is Opening a Tribeca Studio
Any news in when this studio will open? I walked by last week and it still says coming this spring. — Ashley k on DanceBody Is Opening a Tribeca Studio
Rohin, I live on Greenwich St. between Desbrosses/Watts and it's a very residential, not industrial area. There are already a lot of drunk and loud people leaving Tribeca rooftop parties that urinate and vomit on the Street (Desbrosses), and cause quite a disturbance. The idea of an after-party space would surely wreak havoc on our quiet block. This is not an area for late night activity. — Jean Powers on Food Hall Plans Withdrawn
This is awesome and yeah, another reminder of why I love the Tribeca Citizen. — Will on Valentine No. 54
By the same token, it distracts from Barclay Tower.... — Erik Torkells on New Building Report Card: 30 Park Place
