If only the staff don't act like they own the street or sidewalk. I mean, whenever I stumble these photoshoots, I give them no hassle: when i am asked to not walk through the shoot, I stop and let them take their shoot. But when they are pausing for a break or fixing the hair or make-up of the models and nothing is going on, the staff just stand their ground and do not give way to the pedestrians and I have to walk around them. Just don't be bunch of self-entitled and self-important jerks. We make them feel welcome in our streets and neighborhood. City Acres has a pretty decent butcher, and organic produce (for the moment)- far better than Jubilee, Zeytuna, and Fulton Market. I don't know what the rally was all about, but I do know who Kevin Hart is and love his comedy and his performances in movies. And I'm a 52 year-old white woman. Sharing the demographics only to point out that when people make comments to the effect of having "no idea" who he is, that's sad to me, not entertaining snark. A quick Google search would tell you he is one of the highest earning performers around (according to Forbes, he's 98 on the top 100 celebrity earners list). The bigger question to ask is why was Kevin Hart coming all the way here to support this event? He doesn't have any historic ties to NYC (he's a Philly guy). And, it wasn't a rally for health. The name of the company sponsoring the event is Rally Health. I don't work for them or have any affiliation. the rent stabilization ruling is interesting. the lawsuits are very similar to the one filed by the independence plaza tenants association against stellar management. in that case it was a j-51 tax abatement which the landlord was hiding from the tenants. the tenants association at first won the case and all the ipn apartments were to be rent stabilized but on appeal the decision was reversed and stellar management was allowed to return the abatement and keep the buildings market rate. — safe as milk on In the News: Mickey Rourke’s “Disco Light Fixtures”

This community affairs person seems tone deaf to me. The sound at the starting line is 99% unrelated to any safety instructions. It's rah-rah speeches and the Jackson 5 blasted at high volume. If really true, they should not have any amplified sound at all.
