Thanks! Loved Gjelina on last visit, but we'll probably avoid Venice this time. Will investigate the others.... — Erik Torkells on Seen & Heard: Kiki de Montparnasse Is Open
LA restaurants: - Gjelina - heard Salt Air is supposed to be good - Malibu Farm - Avoid Geoffrey's completely - Nobu is overpriced and ridiculously scene-y, but great view — Kelly on Seen & Heard: Kiki de Montparnasse Is Open
Maybe they were just on patrol with the Triraq Neighborhood Watch? Sweet little neighborhood boys. They shouldn't be too hard to find. — McGruff on In the News: Triraqis Caught on Video
"...are wanted for criminal impersonation and burglary." Hopefully the police catch these guys and charge them properly. It is criminal what they have done to historic buildings i the neighborhood. — Randy on In the News: Triraqis Caught on Video
I love this store! I have rummaged through the basement many times and found treasures for homes over the years. Scattered between Tribeca, Fire Island and Hudson. Such a heart break as I do like to touch and feel my products! — Christine Boeke on George Taylor Specialties Is Closing
To Whom it may concern: The George Taylor space will be available at the end of the month at a reasonable rent. The landlords,us, are 4 art related families who are not looking to making a killing in the real estate market. Sincerely, Allan Boutin — allan boutin on George Taylor Specialties Is Closing

I wonder if the real estate brokers on the board would ask that their projects "be lowered?" Just a thought. The 1980 building wasn't much to look at but this new rendering is interesting and should grow nicely into the neighborhood. I seldom like change in TriBeCa but this one works! — TG on In the News: Maya Lin Designed a Hubert Street Mansion
Re: Esplanade -that section has always been wood.. Park Alternates between wood and stone. — Rohin on Seen & Heard: Winter Sales
I live a block and a half away from the sanitation's new building (Renwick St.) My street was not plowed until monday morning. How is it possible that the trucks being so close, couldn't make it to a street thats seconds away.... As for you're question. I didn't hear the hustle and bustle of the trucks at all. — Jay on In the News: The Salt Shed’s First Big Test
Nice piece on all the new development, but no mention of the many to come on and around Fulton St. Many of these buildings are on narrow streets with narrow sidewalks. Where is all the garbage going to go? And what about service and delivery vehicles? Will it be like the Gehry building where you must walk single file on garbage days and try to avoid the vehicles parked half on the sidewalk? While NYers can certainly cope with those things, they kind of take away from the whole ultra-luxury aspect of the projects, at least it does for the Gehry building. — FiDi Resident on In the News: Tribecan Snowboarded Through the Snowstorm
thank god for Casey Neistat. — hst on In the News: Tribecan Snowboarded Through the Snowstorm

Casey Neistat is insufferable. — JT on In the News: Tribecan Snowboarded Through the Snowstorm
I wonder if the new building will be greener - you know, better insulated, more energy-efficient in general? Maybe that's the main reason for giving it a new skin. The old look isn't so bad - very Bauhaus with the alternating slabs of glass and masonry. It can't be purely aesthetic considerations at play. — Will on Big Church Street Building to Get a Major Overhaul
I think "WORKHOUSE" references "NEUEHOUSE" - the membership-based high-end colocation workspace (also for creatives, media types). There's one in NY and one in LA. — olivia on Big Church Street Building to Get a Major Overhaul
as someone who usually post rants against new architecture here, i am happy to write that i like this one. i hope they don't dumb it down too much to please the community board. — j on In the News: Maya Lin Designed a Hubert Street Mansion

I am referring to the top vacant floors in the photo I reference -- those vacant floors are absolutely not mechanical floors. — alee on Nosy Neighbor: Why Does 1 World Trade Center Look So Unfinished at Night?
Alee, that's incorrect. Those are mechanical floors, not tenant floors. The lighting is decorative. — Mark on Nosy Neighbor: Why Does 1 World Trade Center Look So Unfinished at Night?
I've lived across the street from this building nearly all my life and have always dreamed about what I could do with it, as it was always so clear that it was underutilized but well-located and structurally serviceable. My ideas would have preserved more of the building as it was, however banal, but users will benefit immeasurably from the window configuration. That was the old building's weakest point. I welcome this. I also welcome Kermit and Spongebob to the neighborhood. Folks I can identify with, at last. — David G. Imber on Big Church Street Building to Get a Major Overhaul
