I will miss the EMP. It is not fair to brand all of the employees as rude. When certain products I used were no longer on the shelves, I asked the managers if they could get them back and they did. One delivery man has worked there forever and he is a real sweetheart. Like most things we deal with, the EMP was a bit of the good, the good, the bad and the ugly. — Huck's Mom on Update on Food Emporium and Fairway
This makes total sense for the Fulton Mall. It can't ALL be luxury everywhere and shouldn't be. We need to have regular stores as well and this is a subway station after all. That said, what we DON'T need is another Dunkin Donuts. I hope Irving Farm does most of the business here. — Luis Vazquez (FiDi Fan Page) on Who’s Onboard at the Fulton Center
There is a difference between runners and pedestrians and it not acceptable to expect the runners to use the pedestrian walkway along the esplanade. The surface (pavers vs. blacktop) does not work for running long distances. Additionally, there are a number of children on foot, bikes and scooters along the esplanade and it becomes an obstacle course for a runner to swerve past them all. The bikeway needs to be shared with runners, just as the East and West drives in Central Park are shared with runners and bikers. — AliceG on Seen & Heard: Is the Bike Path Finally Ready to Open?

It does sort of feel like the Fulton Center imay wind up being the "low-end" part of the WTC mall, doesn't it? All of these make total sense for a train station, but this list doesn't compare to the parade of luxury going in across the street... I wonder if some of the higher-end tenants on this list are going to wind up with some buyer's remorse after they see the company they're keeping. — mg on Who’s Onboard at the Fulton Center
I liked the vibe and location but cash only policy was a problem. — Mac McCobb on CafĂ© Noir Has Gone Dark
Food Deplorium! The produce was marginal and the staff are very rude. What can be done to get Fairway to move into the space? Fairway has its internal issues but I'm sure a market analysis would prove Fairway in the Food Emporium space would be a good fit. — CCC on Update on Food Emporium and Fairway
I'm with you. The Emporium was perfect for what it is. Are we supermarket Ludites? — Joan on Update on Food Emporium and Fairway
i, too, think it's a tragedy. it was very helpful to have a traditional grocery with long hours (when i moved here they were 24x7). whole foods is great at what they do but providing basics at reasonable prices isn't their forte. — josh on Update on Food Emporium and Fairway
Fairway pleeeeeeeease. So tired of pseudo hip wholefoods. With Fairway we get international foods as well as Hellmans and Haagendazs Let the. Ompetition games begin!! — Dizzy on Update on Food Emporium and Fairway
great news about mariachi's. it's a wonderful family owned restaurant that has been in the neighborhood for decades. definitely a cut above your standard mexican joint. it used to be called the little place when it was in what is now the mangez avec mois express take out place. — josh on Masa’s Tribeca Restaurant Is Back from the Dead
Nope. I found the staff at Food Emporium to be incredibly rude. While I am not happy that they might lose their jobs I won't miss the place. Morgan's carries all the major brands and everyone there is hekpfyl and friendly. — JD on Update on Food Emporium and Fairway
No, everyone else is fine with this. Lots of food choices in the neighborhood. — Reademan on Update on Food Emporium and Fairway
Any updates? It's really sad in there - and horrifying to think that we are devolving into a neighborhood without a local supermarket. My father moved into this neighborhood in 1968 when it was without services - are we sliding backwards into that space, because people are too plugged in to luxury delivery (i.e., Fresh Direct)? Does this horrify anyone else besides my family? — Judy Levine on Update on Food Emporium and Fairway
I guess we both need the affirmation. It feels so good. — Jim Smithers on Where in Tribeca…?
Yes, but I actually saw the arrow walking home from the 6, before I saw your hint. But hey, if you feel you need the affirmation, go for it. — Robert Ripps on Where in Tribeca…?
So across from the "Harley" Davidson store, thanks. — Jim Smithers on Where in Tribeca…?

Gosh, I can harley remember where that arrow is near...hmmm. — Jim Smithers on Where in Tribeca…?
56 Leonard at night is a wonder indeed. Notice how brightly the construction lights on the top floors shine? If you have a bedroom window in sight of those (even at a distance) you have surely installed opaque blinds. We're hoping that the lighting once the apartments are built out, is much more tolerable. — Andrea on Seen & Heard: Dahlia’s Is Closed for Repairs

As the sign says, "UP to 40% off." Most items are 10% off, and very few are 20% off...which is no savings considering the prices at Food Emporium. However, all spices are 40% off, for those who are interested. — Elisa on Update on Food Emporium and Fairway
a key food in place of the food emporium would be the best outcome. the food emporium workers would get a shot at keeping their jobs and the rest of us would have a place to get our helmans mayo and heinz ketchup. — josh on Update on Food Emporium and Fairway
