I had heard several months ago that Bloomingdales was also looking at 28 Liberty so it doesn't surprise me that they are looking at 100 Barclay as well. Great addition to Downtown. — Luis Vazquez (FiDi Fan Page) on How’s This for a Rumor….
Questlove lives in the Gehry building. He used to be on the 30th floor, but he moved upstairs when the rest of the building was completed. And he wears his afro pick at the gym. — NYbG Resident on Seen & Heard: Is the Bike Path Finally Ready to Open?
Would all you bikers please observe the bike lane traffic signals? I've come close to getting hit on several occasions by bikers who think they are exempt from obeying traffic laws. — Makes you go "hmmm..." on Seen & Heard: Is the Bike Path Finally Ready to Open?
11 6th Avenue rendering already doesn't match what is being built if you look closely - kind of hilarious. I feel like they are making that place up as they go/it looks a little like a random fancy McTeardown house in Queens. — steven sclaroff on Seen & Heard: An Alliance of Tribeca Businesses
Such a good idea! Except, to make a Jenga version replicate the building it would be so ugly that nobody would buy it. — Mark on The “Ghostbusters” Firehouse Is for Sale
So glad they have arrived in the neighborhood. With an internist in the upper east side who is generally unavailable for emergent situations, I've used City MD on 23rd Street and have only good things to report -- professional, friendly and no wait. The other place that doesn't take insurance deserves to shut down. — Jane Slavin on New Kid on the Block: CityMD
Yes I loved the 'Everything Store': I still treasure and use an African broom I bought there -- among so many other things. What a great place it was and how improved the neighborhood would be if it would suddenly reappear in place of yet another upscale restaurant or boutique. — George Bacon on Another Store Is Getting the Boot
I hope they never give it up. I love T & T! — cami on Seen & Heard: More on Duane Reade’s Plans
Obviously, 56 Leonard should be a Jenga game — gamer dude on The “Ghostbusters” Firehouse Is for Sale
According to their website there are over a dozen Bloomingdales's the Outlet Store locations with around 25,000 square feet each. Perhaps that would fit in that space. One location is supposed to open on the UWS next month. — JPL on How’s This for a Rumor….
Yet another Broadway development without a Broadway address? And in the middle of the block no less! I love these aversions to the most famous street in Manhattan as these buildings pop up around Franklin and Leonard! Probably more, but by my count we have two with Leonard Street addresses and one w/Franklin Place. After 32 years on Broadway, I embrace my humble address, but will admit that the developer 32 years ago did call it "Broadway Court." — Christine Boeke on Seen & Heard: New Tenant for 124 Hudson
There's a photo booth at the Regal 16 Battery Park movie theater in Goldman Alley. — Dan Kohn on Seen & Heard: An Alliance of Tribeca Businesses
This was the very first store that started Tribeca. Its a damn shame. This is because of the landlord of the property and high rent. There needs to be rent laws in place for the landlords. They are out of control. Tribeca looks like a ghost town. Crime is on the rise. Back to the 80s we go. Its a shame. — Margie on The Food Emporium Is in Limbo
You haven't been to the lousy restaurants in BPC. Southwest has quesadillas for $16 + and they are REPULSIVE. Rosa Mexicano is a steal. — Liz on New Kid on the Block: Rosa Mexicano
Long live Tent and Trails! — David G. Imber on Seen & Heard: More on Duane Reade’s Plans
The prices are ludicrous. — High on New Kid on the Block: Rosa Mexicano
None of the menus on their website have prices, so you have to actually go in to find out what the dishes cost. Think that's simply an omission? I would bet NOT- just a trick to get you in! — Bruce on New Kid on the Block: Rosa Mexicano
The road that led to Rosa Mexicana closely follows Tribeca's own journey. From gritty but real (Biddy Early's) to a high priced chain. You all can decide whether that's good or not...I'm just pointing it out. — BobR on New Kid on the Block: Rosa Mexicano
Tent & Trails folks told me they own their building (good for them!) and they are directly next door to 19 Park Place. — Bruce on Seen & Heard: More on Duane Reade’s Plans
If it weren't for Cuomo's arrogance and stupidity in regards to BPC, I might actually like him. Instead, I loathe him. Everything his office does in regards to BPC stinks of everything that is despicable about politicians. Frankly, if BPC residents paid 70% of their taxes and banked the rest to "buy politicians" they would have true representative government. Eventually, they could lower their land lease rates, save on taxes, spend less extravagantly on the neighborhood, and still buy politicians at a fraction of what they pay now. — cami on In the News: Wagner Park Under Review
No-one attends the Calgary Stampede without dressing appropriately! We didn't want to arrive unprepared, so I can't tell you how pleased my husband and I were to be able to purchase boots, western shirts and a Stetson hats right here in Tribeca. It's been said so many times, but stores like this are a treasure and an important part of what makes this city diverse and interesting. Is it surprising to find a Western wear store here - yes! But the fact that they have survived this long proves that there must be a market, and not just for Hallowe'en. — Andrea on Another Store Is Getting the Boot
It is the BPCA looking to hand over more public parks to for-profit corporations = friends/donors of Cuomo. The problem is that BPCA is a state run organization and driven by Cuomo, so no clear oversight at all. — Liz on In the News: Wagner Park Under Review
Maybe something is happening in that storefront on Barclay, now, but it's been almost a year gone, and they open it from time to time & it looks like the might do something, but don't. The storefronts to the east of Barclay tower, as well as storefronts that wrap around onto Bway on the same building, have been disappearing one by one. — j frank on Seen & Heard: More on Duane Reade’s Plans
I've had only great experiences from their location on 23rd Street..having them in the neighborhood is such terrific news! — julieW on New Kid on the Block: CityMD
I remember when that was the "Everything Store" (never knew its real name.) It was like an old fashioned general store, with everything from pots and pans to hardware and tools, birthday decorations...they literally had EVERYTHING. So sad when they moved a block downtown, then closed less than a year later. — Elisa on Another Store Is Getting the Boot
