The only place I buy clothes for babies and young children. Every item so thoughtfully chosen. Smart, whimsical, tasteful. Oh Grace, you did such a briliant job with the store, turning a chore into a delightful ission. The kids for whom I bought the clothing gifts over the years also delighted in the purchases, I bought one little boy -- the son of dear friends -- a tee-shirt with a snow plow. The boy lived in Venezuela and had never seen snow. He adored the shirt. I hope your successor brings the same taste level and dedication. — Jane Slavin on Handover at Koh’s Kids
While I wish them well in Tribeca, it will truly be a sign of change if they succeed. — Charles on Tribeca Is Getting Yet Another Bakery
No surprise. I had been practicing commercial real estate for only a few years when Mrs Murphy contacted me to look at a few retail spaces for lease. We made an aopt to meet up which I confirmed with her. She never showed up. She had no excuse when I called her. She was busy. In my 10 years in real estate, she is one of only 2 people who has ever stood me up. — Darla on In the News: Objections to the BPC Parks Putsch
I just emailed Kristen at her spa email and her personal. I hope to get a response and sort this out! I have a $500 gift certificate that I cannot use... Thanks for all the info! — Casey on Euphoria Spa Is Moving
Can the community use Pier 26 some day? — Robert Ripps on Seen & Heard: Tonight’s Diner en Blanc Is Happening Around Here
Unfortunately, the residents have absolutely no say in how things are done in BPC. The board has marching orders from Cuomo. The board doesnt live here and couldnt care less about it. Battery Park City isn't a neighborhood , but rather a financial vehicle that Cuomo uses to pay off campaign donors and other favors. With no reelection in sight for Cupmo, residents don't have much influence. — Ariane on In the News: Objections to the BPC Parks Putsch
Will miss dear Grace! She once hand knit a sweater that had come unraveled for my daughter. Small business used to define a neighborhood. I hope the handover goes well! — Alycea Ungaro on Handover at Koh’s Kids
Speaking of things the neighborhood lacks--why can't we have a decent Thai restaurant? We used to order from Bunrasa, but they closed. Drives me nuts. — Christy on In the News: Maison Kayser’s Fan Is Driving Neighbors Nuts
Even though my kids have long grown out of Grace's store, they still go by regularly to see all of their holiday cards on the bulletin board (some faded after 14 years). Times have changed around here and glad to have Grace and Koh's Kids as such a fond memory. — jen izzy on Handover at Koh’s Kids
Grace Koh is a Tribeca institution. I hope she plans to continue living in the neighborhood. I hope the store retains some of the quirky personality it has had through the years - and I hope it survives the massive changes to Greenwich Street that have happened recently. Grace - Have a very happy and productive retirement! — David Cleaver on Handover at Koh’s Kids

The short answer is yes. As for the long answer, I'd like to address it in a State of the Site post—haven't done one in a long time, and this is a good topic to get into there rather than in the comments on a week-old post. — Erik Torkells on In the News: Maison Kayser’s Fan Is Driving Neighbors Nuts
Yeah yeah I knew you'd say that. But all papers and magazines (as you know) make editorial decisions about their advertising and they generally don't plug ads directly into the main news area or format ads to look exactly like articles. Obviously you have to sell ads, and some are even helpful reminders of things around the margins. Do you have to sell ads that masquerade as the original content on the site? — hst on In the News: Maison Kayser’s Fan Is Driving Neighbors Nuts
Erik... Check out Canal Rubber... Love that place too — Rohin on Valentine No. 44
Good point! I'll remove all the ads and do the site for nothing but kicks. — Erik Torkells on In the News: Maison Kayser’s Fan Is Driving Neighbors Nuts
@John Doe: exhibit b: "zipdrug." That, along with the clean bathrooms app and the mail order underwear, are some of the more ridiculous start ups that have been featured here. All of them (and more) an ill-advised use of posting space for paid advertising -- an increasingly frequent practice on the blog, I regret to say, and something I for one would prefer not to see. — hst on In the News: Maison Kayser’s Fan Is Driving Neighbors Nuts

The rich people who own these mansions are entitled to nothing. They provide jobs and pay huge taxes on buildings they rarely occupy. Their kids don't attend public schools and they utilize none of the city's generous "programs." The people with an exaggerated sense of entitlement are the poor folk with their hands out who feel like the world owes them a living as well as subsidized housing in some pricey neighborhood like Tribeca. — russell cecil on Mansion Fever!
