Freeze your food scraps! Then they don't drizzle on your shoes or elsewhere. — Manhattanmommie on Composting has ended at the Green Market
Fret not, fellow tokers. These places will rise again. The $25/hour narcs are sure to be fired as the city and state bankrupt themselves through welfare programs for migrant families. Be patient. Nonetheless, sad to see New City Smoke closed. The dudes in there were so kind, and they had one of the best deals in the city for a log of 6mg Spearmint Zyn. — Steve C on The beginning of the end for illegal cannabis stores
Necessity?! Right places?! And watch your language. — R. on The beginning of the end for illegal cannabis stores
"A NECESSITY" Thank You -- best laugh of the day reading that... maybe the week — Robert on The beginning of the end for illegal cannabis stores
Does anyone know why Brookfield had roped off the Portside area and posts security guards at both sides during the day? I'm wondering what the public access is to the space or not as it is fully roped off late into the mornings each day — Wilbur on Seen & Heard: Concerts in Washington Market Park
legal weed stores are a necessity like liquor stores. so get them open in the right places asap!!! stop bitching abou the fact it’s legal ! — alan kaminsky on The beginning of the end for illegal cannabis stores
Focusing on the legal vs. illegal shops is a waste of time, it changes nothing. Legalizing marijuana is very problematic to begin with. As a society it's unthinkable to push the commercialization of a substance that can cause harm without sufficiently addressing the real impact on human behavior. As if it's a long waited welcomed benigh magic pill that relieves all pains and enhances all pleasures, real and imagined. All for the sake of creating a new business. New York is now a urine soaked pot permeated third world city with no qualified people at the helm, what's next? — R. on The beginning of the end for illegal cannabis stores
EXCELLENT, The other four that I can not wait is: Mr. Exotic on Church between Reade and Chambers which has the audacity to put benches for their drug addicts to prep their weed and smoke on that sidewalk. The weed shop on Chambers next to 16 Candles, The two on Church street opposite side of Mr. Exotica. — Sandra on The beginning of the end for illegal cannabis stores
They used give out tickets for trespassing when you jump the turnstile. Now it’s a free-for-all. So instead of making the fare-beaters pay, they come up with this nonsense. — Wanda on Clarity — finally — on one angle of congestion pricing for Downtown residents
He had 85 arrests?! Obviously he’ll keep doing it again because there are zero repercussions. So sad. — DTlady on Emilia George burglarized…again
Thanks to P. As the ad industry evolves and placements like this (traditional OOH) offer video, I believe controls will evolve. You see this on digital platforms (eg YouTube) with a big push to ensure platforms are building controls (as much as possible) serve appropriate content based on what is known about viewers. This is not dissimilar. Most brands look carefully at their OOH placements and have some knowledge of what’s nearby and who the audience might be. Still, there is no standard / system. And, content is subjective as you can see on this thread. Bottom line for me: I saw it thought “that’s a bit salacious” (period). I didn’t even notice sexuality so these comments surprised me. — Parent & Marketing Person on Nosy Neighbor: “I find this bus stop ad concerning.”
Seriously?! In the 2020’s in NYC this is what we’re worried about? Ignoring the blatant homophobia, are we still that puritanical? Clearly if someone can’t explain this ad to their children adequately then they’re doing their children a disservice. I don’t intend to shelter my children that way. — Wow on Nosy Neighbor: “I find this bus stop ad concerning.”
Yes, that store has just departed from the former Chambers Wine space. — CK on The beginning of the end for illegal cannabis stores
Promoting censorship in ads, sexual expression, and now people’s differing opinions is not a good look tbh — B on Nosy Neighbor: “I find this bus stop ad concerning.”
Yours was because it attacked P. so directly and so meanly. — Tribeca Citizen on Nosy Neighbor: “I find this bus stop ad concerning.”
I wonder if the store that was apparently looking to open in the old Chambers Wines space will give up now. I hope so. — J on The beginning of the end for illegal cannabis stores
This is great news!!! Finally doing something about the illegal one's. This is going to make it all the more difficult for our kids to get pot! I cant wait for the neighborhood to get our first legal shop. Supposedly one's going to open on Hudson St not too far from the tunnel. — Mike Levy on The beginning of the end for illegal cannabis stores
I agree wiht P, my son looked at this ad and I saw the perplex look on his face. It's a shame when someone shares their concern they are shamed for their opinion, and making it something it is not. It's a form of bullying. I have an opinion and so does everyone else. However when you get attack for it, you have created a space for people not to post. Thank you P — Sandra on Nosy Neighbor: “I find this bus stop ad concerning.”
I love it. Wish Tribeca could be this, spa treatment district, personalize training and restaurants. — Sandra on The Tribeca Bridal District?
It's a start. — Marcus on The beginning of the end for illegal cannabis stores
Yeah, nice design, I guess, but I don't really understand PJ Clarke's spent so much on so few additional seats. Who needs a dedicated space for oysters? But maybe it's intended for fun corporate-type dinners. That's probably a decent business, given their location. — J on P.J. Clarke’s adds an oyster bar
Were comments about underlying homophobia deleted from this page? Hmmmm — B on Nosy Neighbor: “I find this bus stop ad concerning.”
I believe there are locations in Union Square and BK. To the comment that this was (or was not) the first location in NYC. — Patrick on New Kid on the Block: StretchLab
Thank you P. For taking the time to resolve an issue rather than sit around complaining. It reads like the MTA agreed with you. I wonder who vets the ads? The MTA or JC Decaux? — Bunny on Nosy Neighbor: “I find this bus stop ad concerning.”
OK is the best! Nicest people too. Hope they don’t go far — CB on OK Uniform is moving its Tribeca store
