I wish the new pizza places well. I hope they succeed on general principle. But I think we all realize that the steady closures of proper dining venues in our area and citywide, with the concomitant rise in the number of places that sell cheap, roughly-made, carbohydrate stomach-fillers is not a good sign for our society, right? I mean, I like pizza as much as the next American, but if you're keeping score, the per capita proliferation of such places is a distinctly negative trend. Most families can't afford to go out to dinner much right now.
