  • 65 Franklin currently has a Stop Work Order because it has damaged the adjacent buildings. My building, which is two over from the site, has suffered from their excavation. They even burst a sewer pipe a couple of months ago which required the city to hire an outside contractor to continuously pump the water from our basement until it was repaired. — Broadway Mamma on In the News: Ballfield terrace repair now at $8 mill

  • What happened to the bronze plaque announcing the name of the plaza and explaining who James Bogardus was? Did it get sold for scrap metal the way the iron facade panels of Bogardus' nearby Laing Stores did in 1974? https://untappedcities.com/2015/04/30/the-building-that-was-stolen-twice-in-nyc-the-james-bogardus-building/5/ — George Bacon on Seen & Heard: Delimarie on Duane is closed

  • @Adam they only closed a few months ago. I walked in just before they did and I live across the street. Not sure why you say 15 mos late with the info. They opened mult times during the pandemic. — Patrick on Seen & Heard: Delimarie on Duane is closed

  • Probably not a subject for CB1 agenda but under 'Quality of Life'. About three weeks ago, we had two solid weeks of late evening jack-hammering at the north east corner of Reade & Church. Must be an emergency we thought. When the excavation was finished, a steel plate was placed over the huge hole. This plate which is unbalanced emits a thunderclap, every time a vehicle goes over it. Day and night. Who dug this hole with such urgency that it needed jack-hammering past midnight for two weeks? Why? What is to be done with it? Can the plate be fixed so that it does not sound the knell of doom every time a vehicle goes over it? Perhaps it is being made ready to bury the present administration at City Hall? — Bob on Community Board 1 agendas for June

  • How irinic this week I just asked about Delmarie and they said they "been' closed and shut down. I remember they sold the best breakfast ever, and such a diverse selection. It was then taken over, and they scaled back. — Sandra on Seen & Heard: Delimarie on Duane is closed

  • DeliMarie...You are 15 month late on this information.I have been living a couple doors down from this deli for 22 years...I probably was living here before they opened...They were the most expensive Deli in town it was offensive...this is my opinion. I went in there 2 times total in all the years it has been open and i told them you will close i guarantee it when they argued about the price of their egg sandwich which was on the menu but they charged me 2 dollars more. I walked out and told them you will never get a dollar from me and that was that. I am sure covid has something to do with it but never had people in there...Maybe a tad during lunch...oh their egg sandwiches were like 7 bucks. when everyone else in this country from a deli like this is 4 bucks max with some meat and cheese. I don't feel bad...sorry. just my 2 cents... — Adam Glassman on Seen & Heard: Delimarie on Duane is closed

  • I'm not following your 10 years comment, but yes, you have the same thing here as was in my post. North & West will have a design/build contractor as of early next year. The South section has already begun; the ballfields are under construction now. — Tribeca Citizen on BPCA will pursue design/build plans for resiliency in Tribeca and Rockefeller

  • Thank you...but to my point, I went to BPC website and found the following, undated of course but I assume current: The combined North & West Battery Park City Resiliency Project will proceed through a progressive design-build effort. Project definition development and environmental review will commence in 2021, with a with a contractor to be selected in early 2022. Thus 10 years after the fact they will be SELECTING A CONTRACTOR. Anyone familiar with bidding practices knows you are way off from shovels in the ground..way off. Of course, maybe a contractor already selected??? In any event, the most densely populated area of the BPC Resiliency Project is not even close to "boots on the ground ". — John on BPCA will pursue design/build plans for resiliency in Tribeca and Rockefeller

  • responding to Sarah, Its all about preserving the seaport historic district. The towers destroys that and makes way for others to come in. Its corruption at its best. • There are no undercovers and they reduced them significantly. Also, Bail Reform. Criminals let out of jail as soon as they are arrested for assaults. The city is dangerous, Trains dangerous walking around at night dangerous. Certain areas are worst than others. Homeless Hotels a big factor and more to come. • Just did the bike ride 05/31/21 from Field 5 to Ocean Bay Park and it was wonderful! Ate lunch at Schooner's and shopped in the shops at Ocean Beach. Wonderful day. • BPCA is doing its resiliency work in stages. That stage is almost ready for the construction phase and the northern end is last. You can read about it here. — Tribeca Citizen on BPCA will pursue design/build plans for resiliency in Tribeca and Rockefeller

  • What people seem to be missing is that this project is to protect ONLY BPC. This project was not meant to and does not protect Tribeca - it floods. As waters are pushed by the flood walls away from BPC , stopping at N Moore, where do you think they will go? N Moore and south through Tribeca and Hudson River Park, that’s where — Other person on BPCA will pursue design/build plans for resiliency in Tribeca and Rockefeller

  • The Two Bridges thing is so crazy. The Southbridge residents literally voted to go co-op and cash in on their real estate luck. Now they complain about luxury towers and a lack of affordable housing.
