The Fidi location seems to be a bit quicker as far as the wait for sign up and actual test. I went at 10:45 yesterday morning to sign up and there was zero wait. A guard outside signs you up on an iPad. I was texted to come back at 3:45 and was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Yes the wait was 5 hours but if you live nearby it's no big deal. And I think Michael Huber is right. We noticed on our insurance statements that they are charging $300 for these tests. If you look at places you pay out of pocket for testing it's usually around $150. I started going there when I worked on Murray Street about 1990. My boss went there at least 2 times a week.. so I used to go there about two to three times a month. Don't remember any of the waiters at this point but I do remember the owner and his name was Sergio. He treated my boss like gold & his guests. My boss Fred was a big spender and good tipper. If it wasn't on the menu they would make it for us. All the employers were very nice to us. The food was excellent.. I'm not hearing anything about Sergio who did open this restaurant. I don’t know anything about this place other than that it’s there, but FWIW there’s a tent/van under the FDR at the end of Wall Street that’s doing tests. I walk by there several times a week, usually late morning/early afternoon, and have only seen one person who seemed to be using it, so no lines. Not saying don't build...build within the allowed zoning...they could put an amazing structure with hundreds of units that fits the area...most of the Seaport stores were supported by the hundreds of thousands of workers from local office towers, businesses and tourism...that needs to return to boost all of Downtown. This YIMBY article says it's a refurbishment with an ETA of Feb 2022. If you look at the rendering and permit into on the construction fence sign, it shows the updates. These include new retail frontage with a uniform design, signage above the two double doorways along the long western elevation, new windows, and metal railings running along the edges of the roof that likely indicate usable rooftop space.
