Beyond excited that Interlude is expanding to its second location. Their original shop was an instant neighborhood staple. So glad we can now enjoy what is probably the best coffee in NYC two times over! — Friendliest Neighbor on Old Kids, Second Block: Interlude Murray
I travel to NY every four to five years, one of my favorite stores to visit. Can’t find that essence no where else. — Rafael Perez on Flashback: The days of Tent & Trails
Truly fortunate to have these two gems. Both shops are warm and welcoming, yet still feel elevated. We have plenty of options in the neighborhood, but there’s a reason I’ve stayed loyal for 7 years - the coffee is the real star. Congrats! — DS on Old Kids, Second Block: Interlude Murray
Teakwood is great! I went the day it opened; it was delicious and surprisingly crowded. — Tribeca Local on Seen & Heard: Teakwood opens tomorrow
Visited Artion Bakery today and (admittedly) sampled many of the authentic Greek cookies and the delicious I-can't-believe-it's-vegan banana bread and carrot bread. Vasiliki ("Vicky") was so welcoming confirmed that it is the same owners as Artion in Astoria (there's also a midtown location). Savory items are made on premises, and the pastries are brought in from Astoria. Great addition to the neighborhood. — Franklin Foodie on Seen & Heard: New Greek bakery and cafe on Church
I'm glad if people are excited about this new addition to our neighborhood, and I wish every new business the best. But although I'm sure many feel a critique is uncalled for here, I'm compelled to be the wet blanket. The Popup experience is fun — yes, they serve differently, and the bagels are fresh and quite good when they come out of the oven. But for those with deli in their DNA, it's just not a bagel for fundamentalists. The fact that they're very costly contributes to that. The key dynamics of the bagel position it not as the temperamental star but as part of a culinary troupe. An inexpensive good made to a top standard. Top bagels eschew Instagramability in deference to heritage. Putting it near the college was smart. The Village outpost is hugely supported by students, not so much those for whom bagels are roots cuisine. But if they can make people happy, yes, we need that. I take my hat off. — Mulciber on PopUp bagels now targeting November opening
Love Interlude! Happy for Josh & Seara on opening a second location. Well deserved! — Jen on Old Kids, Second Block: Interlude Murray
Josh and Seara have given us a haven with their 2 serene coffee shops. We get our coffee and matcha there most days for the last 9 years. Aside from the insanely good coffee and matcha, and delicious pastries, Josh and Seara are super kind people with an artists’ feel for creating spaces where you want to meet a friend, stop by, or hang out. Their shops are filled with local artists, families, and people who work in the neighborhood. A perfect day for me begins with greeting them, (or any of the lovely people that work there), then walking to work with a the most delicious almond milk latte in hand. With Interlude, Josh and Seara have made Tribeca an even better place to live. — Elizabeth C on Old Kids, Second Block: Interlude Murray

Nothing against cantilevers. I love 56 Leonard. But this trend of air rights purchases to cantilever over other buildings is getting out of hand. — malcolm on What will be lost with the demolition of 80 West Broadway

So DUI means he was driving while drunk or impaired by drugs..... twice. He put people at significant risk each time he did that. What if he had killed someone. He should have been removed from the country back then. It's a failure of the system and needs to be fixed. This is what happens when you have a sanctuary system and a government that refuses to enforce laws. Now you have someone 11 years later who has a family and enforcing the law can cause pain to the innocent children There are no easy answers but if people do not like laws they should change them. Not ignore them for convenience. — Aaron on An update on Luis Fernandez from the Square Diner
