My understanding is a bit different. When City Winery was contemplating the build-out of the upstairs space for a second music venue on the site, it was City Winery who approached Trinity for assurance that their lease was not in jeapordy for the foreseeable future. They say that they received these assurances and in reliance, they built out what’s now called the Loft at City Winery at a cost of over $2 million. So they feel like the rug was pulled out from under their feet. Together with all the other fans of both CW and the Loft, I mourn the upcoming closure and uncertain re-opening date. The yogurt is the same brand as the beloved Bloomingdales yogurt but tastes nothing like it. Maybe they switched brands from when they first said it would be the same as Bloomingdales yogurt. Don't get me started on the dog runs. I have first hand experience with the Warren Street dog run. A very angry man who lived at 101 Warren and apparently owned a pet grooming business in TriBeCa completely upending the old school, friendly dog run in between the two PS 234's. He was relentless about policing the run, was hostile and at times hysterical. I was once in the dog run in the morning when he verbally attacked an elderly man whose dog would bark. He filmed us, yelled at us and threatened legal action. I protected the elderly man who I liked very much and his dog was a gem, a little noisy but for what, 20 minutes? In short, the angry man got his way. The park was locked, a fee was enforced and then the creep moved away. I haven't been back. — TG on In the News: The chatter continues about Au Cheval

So true Makes You Go "Hmm..." so true. One of the things that made NYC such a great city was it is a walking city and used to be filled with unique shops. We are not a mall city. WFC (sorry Warren WFC never had a brook nor was it ever a field - it is landfill) used to be representative of NY. You had the cobbler, the barber, you had the purse shop that had $25 wallets and $1200 purses and everything in between; it was a shopping mall that reflected the different economic realities of all the workers who passed through there coming and going. This place needs to offer a little more for grownups. Almost all the toppings are candy or cookies; only a couple of fruits, no nuts, no coconut. I didn't try the Dole Whip and I have no doubt it's delicious, but I looked it up and it's all sugars, stabilizers, and artificial colors and flavors. I live on Staple Street and it's a shame that the graffiti is so bad- and ignored by the buildings on Hudson that it defaces the back of (buildings are responsible for the maintenance on the front and back of the buildings) I've emailed the 1st precinct several times and have never received a reply back. (they have an anti graffiti team now going around Tribeca cleaning things up) Cortlandt is immaculate and graffiti free because the buildings maintain the alley properly and pick up the trash. Graffiti attracts graffiti (It's definitely gotten worse) and it just attracts more kids doing drugs. — julieW on Where in Tribeca?
