Someone who may know more about these things ... Is there something else with regard to the restaurant's operations that is motivating his demand for a 6am start time (impacting the coffee/matcha program)? Or is it just that he wants to corner the market on morning drinking? — Cobaye on In the News: Au Cheval Wants to Serve Liquor at Dawn
Just what the 100 Barclay buyers wanted crowding their sidewalks after paying $3000/sf....Marshalls shoppers! Might as well live at the Millennium Hilton and elbow through the C21 throngs for a lot less; and daily housekeeping. Yay! — fidus on Seen & Heard: Marshalls Opens Next Week
These police officers/police department better hope that this photographic evidence isn't ignored or disregarded by superior officers or oversight peeps. You're on the record as of 5/12/17. #MNYPDGA. — Jim Smithers on Seen & Heard: How Cops Evade Tolls

So the dude, with a restaurant in Chicago that closes at 1 am, says the concept cannot work without late hours. Sorry, I guess NYC does not want an Au Cheval. — mruptight on In the News: Au Cheval Wants to Serve Liquor at Dawn

Re: "Sodikoff’s team wanted a 6 a.m. liquor license starting time, and the board only wanted 10 a.m" Who is this guy's liquor lawyer? Clearly he is not acquainted with New York's liquor laws, or these guys are simply full of BS. I would just love to hear them now say, "Sorry, NY's liquor laws automatically kill the possibility of an Au Cheval in NY. Never mind." "Sec. 106.5 - Provisions governing licensees to sell at retail for consumption on the premises. No alcoholic beverages shall be sold, offered for sale, or given away upon any premises licensed to sell alcoholic beverages at retail for on-premises consumption during the following hours: * Sunday, from four a.m to ten a.m. * On any other day between four a.m. and eight a.m. Nor shall any person be permitted to consume any alcoholic beverages upon any such premises later than one-half hour after the start of the prohibited hours of sale provided for in this section." www.sla.ny.gov/provisions-for-county-closing-hours — James on In the News: Au Cheval Wants to Serve Liquor at Dawn
HI Erik, 40 Worth, 220 Church outside entrance to Arcade Bakery where they make the best sour dough bread in Tribeca! Thanks, Sonia F. Stock — Sonia F. Stock on Where in Tribeca…?
Forward all of your 311 complaint #s to CB1. They take them into consideration when a liquor license is up for renewal. Though, I do not know what the terms are for MF, most establishments are required to close their windows at 9 PM. man01@cb.nyc.gov — neighbor on Seen & Heard: Setback in Rent-Stabilization Lawsuit
Unfortunately, the dog was not chipped. The officers at the local precinct have named him Franklin (for now). They seem to really care about him, and someone has been taking him home every night. They said his hair was very matted when they found him, and they gave him a bath. I offered to give him a home (or at least foster him) if they can't find the owner, but I sense that there might be interest among the officers in adopting him if the owner does not come forward. I am hopeful they will not send him up to a kennel/shelter. — McGee on Seen & Heard: Setback in Rent-Stabilization Lawsuit

Erik, This is Fantastic news.... After a few years of reading sad stories related to boating & piers happy to hear that the Grand Banks team is involved in Pier 25 (and not some politico "friend") Looking forward to all the developments this summer — Rohin on What’s Up, Dock?
Did they say if they had checked to see if the dog was microchipped? I'm sure any local vets would be happy to scan to try to locate the owner. — Little T on Seen & Heard: Setback in Rent-Stabilization Lawsuit
Next time consider writing down the complaint number 311 gives you, calling the 1st Precinct, and make another complaint directly to them and read them the 311 complaint number. — James on Seen & Heard: Setback in Rent-Stabilization Lawsuit
I saw the police at MF around 9:00, so they did respond. — George on Seen & Heard: Setback in Rent-Stabilization Lawsuit

Thanks. Yes, I used the 311 app to file a noise complaint. It was closed 11:28 PM with the notation "The Police Department responded to the complaint and took action to fix the condition." If course that was 2 1/2 hours after the party wrapped up! — N on Seen & Heard: Setback in Rent-Stabilization Lawsuit
I just spoke with the first precinct. They still have the dog. They gave him a bath and said he is very sweet and friendly. They have not had anyone come forward yet. If someone knows the dog and/or his owner, you should call the 1precinct at 212-334-0611. Hit "0" for the switchboard. They are keeping him there for now, and someone is helping care for him. The are really hoping to find his owner. But he might have to go to ASPCA if the owner is not found soon. — McGee on Seen & Heard: Setback in Rent-Stabilization Lawsuit

You should ask CB1 about any stipulations for the liquor license. In my experience that's easier than trying to figure it out via the SLA. And of course if noise is too loud, you should file a complaint with 311 during the event. — Erik Torkells on Seen & Heard: Setback in Rent-Stabilization Lawsuit
