  • Great list. I wish. But while the tree planters on White are attractive, they leave a sidewalk that's just too narrow (eg for strollers that can't easily move up onto the metal steps also common on that street). — Rachel on Open Letter: I Wish…

  • I hope Maryann's will finally clean-up the shit show that is their outside seating area along Harrison Street. It looks like my grandfather's backyard with bikes, tarps, overgrown bushes, plastic chairs...you get the idea. — Jim Smithers on Seen & Heard: Distilled Restaurant and Bar Opens Tomorrow

  • Actually SoulCycle is more about performing every contraindicated movement every created on a Spin bike. Yup, that would be those movement you learn when you become a certified instructor. Oh, that's right.... SoulCycle made up their own certification that is not recognized anywhere else in the fitness world. Yes, that is correct. A SoulCycle instructor can not teach anywhere else in the world, unless they go out and get a real certification. Usually you get what you pay for, but in SoulCycle's case, you get far less than what you pay for, but a lot more orthopedic surgeries than you bargained for. — Fex Caban on Flywheel Sports Is Coming to Tribeca

  • My daughter is/was a patient of Doctor Chen and has been in contact with her. Dr. Chen says she let all her patients know well in advance that she would be closing her practice and going to Doctors Withour Borders. She says she sent emails and letters to that effect and that patients needed to pick up their files or have their files forwarded. Dr Chen has been an incredible life saving force in our lives and my daughter treasures her and will miss her greatly. She will be incredibly difficult to replace. — Jean B. • @Annika: I went to a preview dinner last week, and the menu was very Greek but much more meat-focused than fish-focused. (There were vegetable options, too—I just mean that it's not Greek like Thalassa is Greek.) — Erik Torkells on Seen & Heard: The Butterfly and the Greek

  • Flywheel is more technical and bio monitor/feedback based (hello traders) whereas soul cycle is more about letting yourself go and following the rhythm and tempo of the music. • 99 Washington--this is the world's tallest Holiday Inn which has topped out. 111 Washington--this is still a vacant lot, although it looked like they might be doing something there soon. It was the staging area for the WTC security garage until recently. 50 Trinity Place--still a vacant lot. The one in the LMCCC story is different. They've been hauling stuff out of it for a few weeks, including some massive wooden beams a few days ago. — Hudson River on Seen & Heard: Duane Park Rooftop Addition
