Does Tribeca battery park city and Fidi have a downtown organization that can advocate for our small businesses and community centers? We should start fund raising and supporting each other. I am so saddened by Dr. Quraishi's passing. He has been my Dr. since he had his office on Greenwich Street, and I followed him to NYU Langone because I trusted him and liked him. He was such an elegant and wonderful, wonderful man, so caring, warm and always professional. I had pneumonia in October, and he actually called me from his home to ask about my health. I was shocked, and moved. He always called with test results, but I never expected him to call from his home. I despair at thinking of him suffering. I will miss seeing him. — Joan Scherman on Dr. Nisar Quraishi dies from the coronavirus at 74

I'm so sad to hear of the loss of such a gentle and humble man. Dr Quraishi has been my doctor for only 1 year but in that time I've come to have great respect for him. I'm truly going to miss him. My deepest sympathies to his family, staff and patients. May God grant him a place in his gardens in paradise. Dr. Quraishi was my doctor for almost 20 years. I am so sadden by this news. He was so calming and had a human touch. My deepest condolences to his family, and friends. Thank you Dr. Quraishi for everything. — Anonymous on Dr. Nisar Quraishi dies from the coronavirus at 74

Crazy that Ruth chris steakhouse can get money but such an integral place like MY can’t. — Please Stay! on Local Business Update: Manhattan Youth and Downtown Community Center
Their food was really good, but I don’t think there was a single time we went there that the order wasn’t somehow screwed up. Simple stuff, not special orders. Order a salad, get a different one you didn’t order. Want two orders of fries? Get one or three. Chicken sandwich? Nope, two burgers. It was just constant. You’d have to literally disassemble the bag before you left the store to figure out what was wrong. Gave up on them. — BobR on Schnipper’s has closed for good
We went a couple of times and it was mostly empty and not tasty enough for us to keep patronizing. Covid aside, I wonder if they just had too much space. — cami on Schnipper’s has closed for good
In case you haven’t noticed, lots of windows of storefronts have been broken(more than “normal”). There’s almost zero police around. While some of this is par for the course of city living, no one living here benefits from the situation getting worse. There’s still a lot of us in this neighborhood that couldn’t retreat to a hideaway and it would be nice to wake up to less broken glass (and piss, but that’s not going to happen covid or not) — Your high horse on A New York First: The subways closed at night
This is such a devastating news! He was my doctor for 25 years, the only one I have had in adulthood. He was always such a humble man, and always willing to engage in health discussions. I followed him from his private practice to NYU Langone, the only reason why I went there. He was fatherly and caring, and always gave me the gift of calm during my worst health crises. I would like to tell his family that it was truly wonderful having him as a doctor. I am a bit lost now because I have known him most of my adult life. I don’t think I’d find another doctor like him. But thank you and thank you for being so kind, Dr. Quraishi! — Bino Realuyo on Dr. Nisar Quraishi dies from the coronavirus at 74
Very sad to read the letter from Langone today. Dr. Quraishi was my gp for almost 20 years, He took time, asked questions and listened. I was always warmed by the gentleness and warmth in his voice and the encouragement he offered at visits. I also appreciated that he called back to discuss test results--until the mylangone system started send me correspondence. A fine man and a great loss to his family, all of us patients and to the medical profession. He really knew how to give medical CARE. — brian Dworkin on Dr. Nisar Quraishi dies from the coronavirus at 74
