  • They’re open “for the neighbors” before the official date. Everybody is so nice. The women’s dressing room is adorable. There’s a cafe and two or three bars, all very small. The red room—a shoe salon—but at least you can see it again. — Hudson River on Sneak Peek: Printemps

  • No one wants a crusty bagel. It is supposed to be doughy and soft through and through. NYC gets bagels all wrong yet people praise the bagels. They should not be burnt, should not go stale by the evening, and not be hard as a rock the next day. Until someone in this city can change that, these bagels are just another piece of bread. — John on Apollo Bagels coming to John Street

  • As someone who has attended a significant number of Maxwell events for the past year, I will assert that there has been an explicit, noticeable effort made to reduce sound outside on the street. They have been throwing more intimate or specific partner events, and they send guildelines to all registered attendees prior to every event to encourage respect for the neighbors and minimize noise on the street. At the end of the day, they can't be accountable for what every person who walks out their doors do when they exit their space. — Maxwell Frequenter on Catching Up With New Kids: Maxwell Social Club

  • I've actually been around long enough to remember when the Popeye's was open in 112, but it must have been vacant for at least 20 years now. The least expensive of those is a $6.755 million two-bedroom apartment with just over 1,900 square feet (177 square meters) of space. The largest price tag is $63 million for a five-bedroom spread spanning the whole 31st floor of the west tower, with nearly 7,000 square feet indoors plus almost 600 square feet of outdoor space.” — JM on Seen & Heard: Greenwich sidewalk coming along
