There's never been a better time to visit the Noguchi Museum in Long Island City, thanks to an exhibit of works by Tom Sachs that relate to those of Isamu Noguchi and Japanese culture in general. Then stroll over to the Socrates Sculpture Park.
The museum exists solely to show the art owned by Emily Fisher Landau, who collected works from 1960 on. There's never anyone there, so you get three floors of contemporary art to yourself.
Like porch swings and celebrity nudes, pedestrian bridges are irresistible—especially ones that have been off limits for 40 years. / 4 comments
