New Kid on the Block: Damon Liss Design/Liss Real Estate Group

“We can help clients see the potential of a property,” says Damon Liss, ticking off the advantages of working with a real-estate broker who is also an interior designer. “We can tell what’s shoddy construction. We’re intimately familiar with many buildings in Tribeca, and we have good relationships with the management and staff. And we basically provide free staging.”

Liss started working for interior designers about 12 years ago; after a couple years, he went out on his own as Damon Liss Design. (His work can be seen in this Loft Peeping post—that’s one page pictured below—as well as on his website.) Eventually he decided to get his real estate license, partnering with the Upper East Side’s Fox Residential Group. His wife, Lisa, joined him five years ago, and they switched to Corcoran.

Now they’ve gone out on their own again, this time as the Liss Real Estate Group. That meant renting a storefront at 51 Hudson (next to Torly Kid), formerly home to William B. May real estate, and before that, Tabak is Tribeca. They actually moved into the space six months ago, but for various reasons, they only just hung the sign and made it official. “We’ve lived in Tribeca for eight years, and our two daughters go to Washington Market School,” says Damon. “With this space, we really feel like part of the community. And our kids can come by in the afternoons.”

Damon Liss Design/Liss Real Estate Group is at 51a Hudson, 212-307-0430; damonliss.com.

  1. We used Damon Liss Design in our apartment in 200 Chambers. They did a a great job. They were on time and within budget. Always showed up to meetings prepared and on schedule. We really enjoyed working with them.

We are now having them help on new home.

  2. Such a beautiful aesthetic.

  3. I wish them luck – they seem like nice neighborhood people. I would use caution on how expert a real estate broker wants to represent they are concerning any other aspect of a real estate transaction than facilitating a meeting of the minds. That is their sole role in this legal relationship.
