This might be the mother of all Loft Peeping posts. It’s a four-level, 6,600-square-foot, four-bedroom FiDi loft—in 150 Nassau, between City Hall Park and the Gehry building—featured in Interior Design‘s November issue. It was designed by Tribeca-based firm Ghislaine Viñas Interior Design, and if there isn’t quite as much color as we’ve seen in some of her other local projects, it definitely has her signature playfulness. Oh, to have gobs of money and no worries about resale!
••• An 80-foot-long slide curves through the four floors (including through one of the guest rooms).
•••• There’s a 45-foot-high climbing wall.
••• One of the guest bedrooms has a mural with an artist’s interpretation of Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch.
••• There’s a glass bridge on the third level.
••• The owners’ two cats have their own catwalk.
••• A wooden swing hangs in the kitchen hallway.
••• One of the showers has a peephole with a view of the Chrysler Building. Inside the medicine cabinet in one of the two guest bathrooms is a peephole revealing a view of Brooklyn.
••• The 1,500-square-foot terrace leads to “a slender walkway [offering] 360-degree views of the city.”
The building was “converted into condominiums in 2002, but the top-floor residence was among the last to sell, in part because it truly was an architectural bauble, lacking plumbing as well as heating and cooling systems.” The architect was David Hotson. The text is by Molly Heintz. The 44 (!) photos are by Eric Laignel.
