••• From Grand Banks: “Eek! Rain Delay! We’ll be postponing our opening until after the storm passes. We’re on a boat after all! Weather permitting, we will be open for our 4th of July party tomorrow night and will resume regular hours Saturday (12pm – 11pm weekends).”

••• The Friends of Bogardus Garden are postponing their CB1 presentation (on the final plan for the new park) until September.

••• Opening July 8 at the Skyscraper Museum: “Times Square, 1984: The Postmodern Moment.”

••• Press release: “Taking place at the Brookfield Place Waterfront Plaza alongside the Hudson River, the Lowdown Hudson Blues Festival will kickoff on July 16 with Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings headlining. Indie darlings Lake Street Dive, hailed as ‘unexpected showstoppers’ by Rolling Stone, and The No BS! Brass Band will open. The second night of the festival (July 17) brings together Grammy-winning powerhouse The Robert Cray Band, with the genre bending stylings of John Hiatt & The Combo, and jazz saxophone harmonies of the James Carter Organ Trio.” Seating is ticketed this year: “Free tickets for seating will be distributed 2 per person, starting at 3 p.m. on day of show on the Waterfront Plaza at Brookfield Place. House will open at 5 p.m. Ticket must be presented for admission to the seating section; standing room is not ticketed, but space is limited.”
