••• Councilmember Margaret Chin’s communications director sent over a response to New Amsterdam Market founder Robert LaValva’s inflammatory letter about the market closing.

••• From sandwicherie My Belly’s Playlist: “Our Tribeca location will be open for lunch service every Saturday until 4 p.m.”

••• The Quiznos on Chambers has actually reopened.

••• I asked the rep for Juice Press whether the forthcoming Murray Street location—which is really coming along—would have a salad bar, like the Greenwich Street one, and the answer was no.

••• Copper and Oak, the Brandy Library‘s new bar at 157 Allen, opens Wednesday (the first three days it opens to the public at 9 p.m.).

••• Cody’s Bar & Grill, up on Hudson, has closed. The space was home to the original Holland Tunnel Blues Bar, co-owned by John Belushi.
