Seen & Heard: Gay Pride Events on Pier 26

••• We have a new winner!

••• My conviction that Espasso’s second Tribeca store will be in the former Almond space is wavering now that I see two N. Moore storefronts—at 59 and 65 N. Moore—that could also be contenders.

••• From Giorgia, the lingerie shop on Greenwich: “On May 4, Giorgia will be hosting our first jewelry trunk show—an event to celebrate Le Petit Roquet New York–based jewelry designer, Clarisse Grassioulet. We will be showcasing her line of simple-yet-sophisticated, layer-friendly pieces.” RSVP by emailing 345giorgia@gmail.com.

••• Wesley Stace is playing City Winery on June 15. I still think of him as John Wesley Harding, when he released one of my very favorite songs: a cover of the Chills’ “Heavenly Pop Hit.” Listen to it here.

••• If you didn’t read the annotated Community Board 1 agendas, you missed that the gay pride events are happening at Pier 26 again this year. Pride weekend is June 23-25.

••• Not a lot of progress yet at 30 Warren (which runs along Church to Chambers).

••• On May 4 May 6 [my mistake], Duane Street Hotel is hosting “a Jockeys & Juleps party celebrating the running of the 143rd Kentucky Derby. The themed viewing party is open to the public and free.” (But drinks don’t appear to be. Also, “Jockeys” does not refer to briefs.) “Duane Street Bar & Lounge will be featuring a variety of hand-crafted Juleps, including the classic mint Julep known as the official Kentucky Derby drink. Guest can take their chance at a raffle wheel to win some fun giveaways, including a complimentary hotel stay, a bar credit and gifts.” More info.
