Inside Pier A: The Second Floor

As I wrote in the post about Pier A’s first floor, the BPCA is looking for a tenant, and it wants to try and keep the first floor–which is relatively open—as public space of some kind. The second floor, however, has stunning interior walls that were covered in anaglypta, which is basically pressed paper, and ideally the tenant will be able to incorporate them into however the building gets used. Also, at the far end of the second floor is the wood-paneled art deco Commissioner’s Room, which no one wants ruined. Up next: The clocktower.

(But first: If you live in Tribeca, think about signing up for Tribeca Citizen’s free twice-weekly newsletter. Look for the gray box to the right.)
