Glad that Ciao Bella has reopened, it’s a favorite summer walk destination.
How about you ask the cop who was standing on the corner while my son and I tried to cross the other morning as the trucks were unloading in front of Food Emporium. There is no way that the guy was standing there for no reason. I noticed him standing there for most the morning. He had to see the amount of foot traffic and how fast the cars were going down Greenwich and taking the turn onto Duane. That a stop sign would create more of a risk is the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard.
What a BS answer from the DOT. I don’t see how a stop sign would make traffic MORE dangerous. Those cars on Greenwich and Duane are constantly speeding to get to that light, no matter if its green or red.
Also, obviously the DOT thought that it was necessary and safe to install THREE “this way” signs indicating that Greenwich Street goes one way at Greenwich and Reade. Yea, DOT…how about installing a stop sign so the little kids won’t get run over walking home from school, and making the crossing lights go a LITTLE bit longer than 5 seconds on the West Side Highway while you’re at it. K Thanks Bye.
I walked into Plein Sud on Saturday and they said it was their opening day! The interior looked chic and the menu very very French.
