Tribeca en Plein Air

Diane Hardy Waller, one of the 24 artists in the Art Students League class that recently spent two days painting in and around Duane Park, was kind enough to send over examples of the fruits of their labor. The instructor was Joseph Peller; in one of John Braden’s works, he’s the guy wearing a visor.

If you want to see them in real life—the paintings and the artists—the class is having a show on Sunday, July 18, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bunga’s Den (137 W. 14th St., between Sixth and Seventh Aves.). “Across from the Salvation Army (how appropriate),” emailed Diane, but that’s absurdly modest, because these paintings are wonderful! The party will have happy-hour-priced drinks, and the artists will be bringing snacks.

What a treat to see our neighborhood through so many talented eyes! Thank you to all the artists and especially to Diane!
