TRIBECA EN PLEIN AIR
Diane Hardy Waller, one of the 24 artists in the Art Students League class that recently spent two days painting in and around Duane Park, was kind enough to send over examples of the fruits of their labor. The one at right is by Clara Triburcio.
CALENDAR: JULY 6–24
This week: Diddy; Steve Earle, Alison Moorer, and Roseanne Cash; Ed Kowalczyk (of Live); early Jane Campion film; authors Nathan Ward (“Dark Harbor”) and James Mauro (“Twilight at the World of Tomorrow”); Haitian poetry celebration; author Judith Shulevitz; Meadowlands at Washington Market Park. Plus: the full calendar through July 24.
STROLLER BOOT CAMP
At Mind Over Matter’s “Stroller Boot Camp,” new mothers incorporate their babies into the workout. (Founder and instructor Joshua Margolis, left, will even feed your baby while you exercise; somebody call Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s agent!) Rebecca Sadek audited a class: “These impressive moms were probably exercising on four hours of sleep, too, so what was my excuse? While they were nursing, I was nursing one too many glasses of wine….”

“THIS MESS” AT PELAVIN GALLERY
I quite enjoyed Pelavin Gallery’s new group show, “This Mess We’re In: Reflections on the Metropolis”—especially the Molotov cocktail, and even the rat flower—so I emailed a few questions over to Todd Masters, Pelavin’s new director and co-owner. Right: “Untitled (High Line)” by Scott Pasfield.
TICKLING THE IVORIES
What’s new in Wickiworld: Wickham Boyle rhapsodizes about “Play Me, I’m Yours,” the public-art project that has installed pianos around the city: “They shake us from the often obsessive thoughts of shoulds, coulds, and didn’ts.”
