DECEMBER BLIZZARD: THE MORNING AFTER
More than 20 inches of photos! Plus: Midnight video of the gusting winds….

WHAT’S UP THIS WEEKEND
Three of the highlights on this weekend’s agenda (the full calendar is here):
1. If you don’t like to go out on New Year’s Eve but are still itching for a party, check out the Bubble Lounge’s long-running Tiny Bubbles party on Thursday night, with Johnny Dynell spinning. (Takes me back to my Jackie 60 days!) The door is free, and there’s burlesque at 11 p.m.
2. As for New Year’s Eve, Bubble Lounge and 92YTribeca are having parties, and Los Lobos is playing City Winery. I’m a conscientious objector to the holiday, but from what I can tell, most restaurants—including Macao Trading Co., Duane Park, and Tribeca Grill—are having special parties with set menus and entertainment. (Many are also serving à la carte earlier in the evening.)
3. Of course, there’s a bunch of interesting ongoing stuff, too—such as Cheryl Hazan Gallery’s “10th annual Red Show” (themed to the color, not Commies), up through January 17.

TRIBECA BY THE NIGHT
Are there always strangers in your hallway? Maybe they’re travelers, renting the apartment down the hall for a few nights at a time…. A look into what’s available in Tribeca on the site VRBO.com shows that nightly rentals are everywhere, even in some fancy buildings.

PAINTING THE TOWN RED
Reader SJW sent over sunset photos she shot back in April from her apartment in 200 Chambers. “Sometimes the sunset is so intense the windows in the buildings really look like they’re on fire!” she wrote.
