••• This really bums me out: Farinella Italian Bakery is either closing or relocating. A tweet said the store is relocating, but the person I spoke with on the phone said it’s closing. Waiting for more info…. Update: Just saw this tweet: “#itsofficial #sadbuttrue thank you TriBeCa!”
••• CORRECTION: The Nili Lotan sample sale is today and tomorrow.
••• Re: a stop sign at Greenwich and Duane…. Nelle Fortenberry wrote a great comment about the fight for one. Check it out.
••• Congratulations to the Worth Street Veterinary Center, which is celebrating its accreditation by the American Animal Hospital Association: “Only 15 percent of animal hospitals in the country are accredited, and we’re one of a very few in New York City. It means that we practice the highest standard of veterinary care; specifically, we were evaluated in the areas of surgery, diagnostic imaging, dentistry, patient care, client education, client service and more.”
••• A reminder that the Museum of Jewish Heritage is free on May 1, in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day. From 10 a.m. to 2 p..m., “Holocaust survivors will be in the galleries discussing their experiences with visitors of all ages. Many are artifact donors who will stand beside their objects and explain their significance.”
••• A reader wrote in asking if I knew of a good tailor (I wish!): “I’ve tried a few of the dry cleaners in the area, and let’s just say they are over-priced and mediocre.” Can you recommend anyone?
••• Has anyone tried the intriguing “doughnut-bagel” at RBC NYC? I don’t want to expend absorb the calories unless it’s worth it—and there’s no way I wouldn’t eat the whole thing even if I hated it.
••• Tweet from Downtown Alliance: “Traffic alert: Murray St btw North End and River Terrace will be closed for repaving w/ cobblestones from April to June.”
••• If you like Riesling, Terroir Tribeca is having a huge tasting of Rieslings from the Paul Mann Collection (soon to be auctioned by Christie’s) tomorrow. Tix are $50.
••• Tribeca Treats tweeted on a new trend: “Soon-to-be parents order cake, and the baby doc calls us & reveals baby’s sex; parents cut cake & color on inside tells them boy or girl!” No, the cake isn’t baby-shaped. (I asked.)
••• Marcia Clark (remember her?) will be at Mysterious Bookshop on Apr. 19.
••• Billy’s Bakery has introduced “two-bite mini cupcakes.”
••• I wanted to mention that we had a good experience at Emergency Medical Care this weekend. The general rule with places like EMC is that you need to be careful, because you can end up paying a lot (which matters more if it’s out-of-network for your insurance, as it was for ours). The consultation fee is $350 on weekdays during the day, and it goes up to $470 on weekends and after hours. We found it worth it—we were seen immediately—and I just figured I’d pass it along what we learned.

Farinella: bummer. Great pizza. At the end of the day, they used to deliver free bread with it.
Tailor: I’ve used Campos and Campos on West 14th St (near 8th) and they are skilled.
Had the same issue with trying to find a tailor in Tribeca. Try LNC Tailor Shop at 83 Baxter Street #B. They are good.
Re: Farinella Closing – I blame myself…I kept saying “I need to try their pizza,” but never did.
Re: Worth Street Vet – congratulations on your new AAHA-certified status! I know how tough that is to get. I’m a huge fan of Dr. DiPolo.
Re: Billy’s 2-bite Cupcakes – I can eat their current-sized cupcakes in 2 bites.
