Seen & Heard: Chambers Construction

••• There’s paving happening on Chambers (just east of W. Broadway) today.

fava bean on Greenwich••• It must be spring, because the fava beans are appearing.

••• The post on the potential end of the J&R store. took some twists today. jfrankp commented that the music department was “having a fire sale & closing,” while the company’s site mentioned a “spring clearance sale” for in-store merch only. But J&R president says the store is not closing: “More exciting info to follow in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.”

••• The Quiznos on Chambers is in limbo: It hasn’t reopened, but the signs saying it would be back on March 10 (because of the construction) have been removed.

••• I need 10 more people to take my survey, and we’ll be at 600 respondents. If you haven’t, please consider. It’s just 11 questions! And they’re easy! And it’s anonymous! And then I’ll stop! UPDATE: Got it. Thanks!

••• From a reader: “The parents and teachers of PS3: The Charrette School are delighted to announce ArtPark: An Interactive Exhibition and Benefit, March 22-30, 12-6 p.m., 350 W. Broadway. Opening reception March 22, from 4-7 p.m. ArtPark will feature installations and artworks that create exploratory play spaces: Climb the ‘graffiti art wall,’ throw a ball at the sound mobile, mix your own color spectrum drink. Benefit Auction: Preview works from our online auction. Arts Festival: Enjoy hands-on workshops appropriate for kids of all ages on March 30 from 12-6 p.m.”

••• Looks like 1 World Trade Center is making progress with the removal of exterior hoist (although mostly I’m including this pic because the building looks so good against a bright-but-gray sky).

  1. What do you expect the J&R manager to say? You have to be sneaky when you do investigative journalism.
