Seen & Heard: Roof-Deck Envy

••• From an observant reader: “The owner of the penthouse at Fairchild is installing a massive roof deck…. NY Decks has been loading in containers, granite, potting soil, furniture and more that lined Washington Street this morning. Crane is now taking up soil…. Doorman says it’s a 30-year-old—related to Soros. Got to be at least $1mil deck.” Invitation, stat!

••• After a three-month break, the Canyon Ridge deli on Church has reopened.

••• Starting tomorrow: “In celebration of the Tribeca Film Festival, China Blue is screening earlier films done by directors participating in this year’s festival. The films will be shown in the Study room at around 10 p.m.” It’s free; register here.

••• The annual bodybuilding contest held at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center is this weekend, if you happen to notice a lot of that kind of thing.

••• Just when you think New York City is about as edgy as triple-ply cashmere, you come across a book club where the members bare their breasts, read pulp fiction, pose for photos, and have fun with chocolate sauce (most recently “in the private wine cellar of a female-owned Tribeca watering hole”). The Outdoor Co-ed Topless Pulp Fiction Appreciation Society‘s website may not be suitable for reading at your work, depending. P.S. Does anyone know where this was?

  1. Book club – @ 508 (it’s written on one of the menus)… and not quite Tribeca.

  2. Fondue anyone?

  3. Well, congratulations Bored – for taking the supreme effort of bothering to look at the menus. I admit my eyes were elsewhere.
