••• I contacted Planet Fitness about when the gym under the Sheraton/post office on Canal will open, and the rep gave a rundown of what to expect: “We are opening in January of 2015. It is an 18,000 sq ft facility with two levels of membership. One is $9.99 a month with access to just that facility and the other is $19.99 a month that allows the members to use the tanning, red light therapy, massage chairs, hydro massage beds with half priced cooler drinks and unlimited guest privileges and access to all PF locations. Every first Monday of the month we have a free pizza night and every second Tuesday we have free bagel mornings. Our group is the largest franchisee in the chain with 35 open locations in the NY metro area with 10 more locations opening in the next year.”
