A New Delivery Option: Olives & Orange

As you may have noticed, I spent quite a bit of time on Seamless recently, but somehow I missed a new option called Olives & Orange. As Roger at Arcade Bakery told me yesterday—O&O is using his focaccia—Joseph Ciriello of Dirty Bird To-Go and chef Sara Jenkins of East Village favorites Porchetta and Porsena are partnering in a catering company that also delivers Mediterranean-inspired soups, salads, and sandwiches.

“She’d buy all these vegetables from the Greenmarket and make these glorious salads, which she’d post on Instagram,” says Ciriello. “And I wanted to figure out a way to have some of those! So I suggested that we try to put a little something together.” The primary idea was to start a catering company—which Olives & Orange is—but they decided to offer delivery so they wouldn’t have to go dormant between jobs. The cooking is done in a commercial prep kitchen downtown, and delivery is offered for lunch and dinner seven days a week, below Canal Street. (Order via the Olives & Orange website or Seamless.) “Eventually we’ll look for a retail space in Tribeca,” says Ciriello.
