In the News: Hopes Dim for Fairway Market

••• The Broadsheet discovered that the Fairway Market at Greenwich and Murray might not be happening. Can’t remember if we already knew this part: The market “was to have occupied two levels within the building at 225 Greenwich, with an 11,000-square lobby level located in a former medical imaging clinic, and a lower concourse of more than 40,000 square feet.”

••• And the New York Times discovered that the first floor of Pier A is open! The article does have the full back story, along with this update: “The second-floor restaurants and bars will begin opening next month.” Also, pic #4 in the slideshow offers a glimpse of a second-floor hallway.

••• South Street Seaport Museum update: “The majestic Peking, perhaps the museum’s most recognizable vessel, appears likely to go away in an effort to put the museum on sound financial footing.” —Downtown Express

••• “I want to open another store in this neighborhood—we have great, loyal customers here,” Maslow 6’s Keri Kunzle Jackson told DNAinfo in regard to its closing. “We’ll just keep working to find a new location.”
