Who’s Taking Over Ivy’s

Just got word that Matt Abramcyk and Akiva Elstein, who own Smith & Mills next door, are indeed the folks taking over the former Ivy’s Bistro space at Greenwich and N. Moore. This isn’t much of a surprise, because when Ivy’s closed in January, Abramcyk told me that he and Elstein hoped to “do a breakfast lunch and dinner service for all our neighbors in the community that we love so much.” (Sounds like their Navy up in Soho, a terrific spot that has proved too popular for the neighbors.) Alas, he has entered a quiet period in advance of the CB1 Tribeca meeting tomorrow (Wednesday), when we’ll learn more about the plans. All we really know now are the proposed hours of 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. (Monday through Thursday) and 2 a.m. (Friday and Saturday); the posting says nothing about Sundays, which I assume is a mistake, because brunch.

P.S. They’ve had their eye on that space since at least 2012, when they planned to create a restaurant there called Maritime.
