Seen & Heard: Work on 100 Franklin Is Starting Soon

••• As predicted, last night’s Diner en Blanc was indeed on Pier 26. This photo by Karl Josef Co is the nicest one I’ve seen from the evening.

••• Arcade Bakery will be closed from Aug. 17 till Sept. 9.

••• Work on the two-triaingle condo building at 100 Franklin is starting soon, comments Steven Sclaroff: “I park on that lot—we are all getting kicked out Friday, and they were core drilling today.”

100 Franklin rendering courtesy DDG••• The city’s 2015 tree census is looking for volunteers: “No prior expertise is necessary. Volunteers will receive training and tools to collect data. For more information about the tree census and how to sign up, please go to nyc.gov/parks/treescount or contact TreesCount@parks.nyc.gov.”

••• As expected, Urban Archaeology is closing soon. In the meantime, a sale.

Urban Archaeology••• Modell’s has opened at the northeast corner of Broadway and Chambers—next door to its former location, in the former Duane Reade space (that had been Modell’s long ago—see the pic below). The folks inside said the old Modell’s space is being given up; they’re not combining the two.

Modells••• Press release about Seaport Studios, the pop-up at 19 Fulton: “For Takeover 2 starting on Friday, July 31, you can find designs from Timo Weiland, The-Squad, Solid + Striped, Yogasmoga and more. These designers will be a part of the pop up through Monday, September 7. Exclusive merchandise from the last intake is still available in the pop up from CFDA/Vogue 2015 Fashion Fund finalist Baja East.” Intake is an interesting bit of jargon.
