••• From Sonali Govind, who lives in Battery Park City and is a student at LaGuardia Arts High School: “This summer, I’m running The Dreamers and Doodlers Arts Camp during the first two weeks of July for kids ages 8 through 10. The camp takes place in Tribeca and Battery Park and the curriculum incorporates all the great indoor and outdoor public spaces in our neighborhood. Kids will learn to explore and experiment with various techniques and materials.” Info here.
••• From the ARChive of Contemporary Music: “Our Summer Sale begins on Saturday June 11 and runs through Sunday June 26 Be there to pick up on all sorts of musical items. Many are very hard to find items that you may not see anywhere else. This year, the ARChive has more vinyl 7” 45rpm records than its ever had for sale, as many duplicates from a collection of 65,000+ recently donated. The jazz LP section is also exceptional this year. Plus, as always, thousands of LPs and CDs at prices way lower than any store in town or any record show or at any online dealer. Cheaper than downloading. PLUS, videos (VHS, DVD and LaserDisc), books, magazines and other great stuff.”
