“I treat a lot of kids,” says Dr. Reena Clarkson, an orthodontist who works in Tribeca, has lived here since 1989, and is a mother of six. “Many of them aren’t that outgoing, but when I’d ask them if they have art I can put on the café’s wall, their faces lit up.”
That’s the gallery part of Galerie de Café, which Clarkson and a childhood friend—who has cafés in Moscow and St. Petersburg—opened today at 51 Warren. They’ll continue to solicit art from local kids, which will be rotated every month or two. As for the café part, it serves Dallis Bros. coffee, Mariage Frères tea, and pastries from Balthazar and Amy’s Bread (but Clarkson hopes to source baked goods locally once the café is settled in). In coming weeks, Galerie de Café will begin offering 20 varieties of Stolle pies, both sweet and savory, and at least until school starts, Clarkson’s son Keo is selling snow cones out on the sidewalk.
Today, to celebrate the café’s opening, both the coffee and snow cones are free.
Galerie de Café is at 51 Warren (between Church and W. Broadway); instagram.com/galeriedecafe.

Really glad I found this place can see it being my new coffee stop from now on!
Had the most amazing green tea ever from Galerie De Cafe and enjoyed the peaceful enviroment. If you’re are in the area I advise you to indulge!
This place looks wonderful. Best of luck!
Irina, Good luck in your new journey!!!!
Looks beautiful…the only thing missing is Paris-style white shirts and black vests.
I look forward to trying the coffee and seeing the space in reality.
Best of luck.
