Seen & Heard: World Trade Center Mall Updates

••• Here’s that rare view of the western side of Trinity Church. You can also stand on the far side of Greenwich and see over the fence, but that’s much less fun that peeking through a hole.

trinity-church-west-side-as-seen-from-greenwich••• The setup for the World Trade Center Transportation Hub holiday light show is extensive, but it does kind of diminish the grandeur of the space. The signage says the light show will happen from 3:30 pm. to 11:30 p.m. daily in December.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a thing before; I assume it’s so you can see if anyone is behind you picking your pocket…? (No photo for obvious reasons.)

••• Last but not least, Choza Taqueria has opened at the mall. I’ll say it again: Where are you supposed to eat?

choza-taqueria••• The “for lease” sign that was at 313 Church, most recently Church Street Tavern, has been taken down. Could someone have already rented it? Despite the succession of misfires, that space is like catnip to restaurateurs.
