••• What appears to be a Russell King artwork showed up outside 443 Greenwich yesterday. (Thanks to Archie for the last photo.)
••• Knew it was coming, but it still hurts: DDG cut down the great old trees behind 102 Franklin to make way for its new condominium.
••• Confirmed: Espasso‘s second Tribeca store is in the former Almond space at 186 Franklin.
••• Blue Bottle is opening a café in the Westfield World Trade Center mall complex, in the ground-floor storefront at the northwest corner of 4 World Trade Center, facing the 9/11 Memorial.
••• In other WTC mall news, the reader known as Hudson River reports that Gateway Newstands and Wasabi have opened (the latter also has a restaurant in Fulton Center). And Havaianas and the Joe café are close. P.S. Shouldn’t it be Newsstands?
••• The Fiftytwo showroom at 28 Warren is having a sample sale today. Some of the brands available at “silly prices” are here.
