In the News: Three New Ice Cream Shops

••• Morgenstern’s is opening an ice cream shop/restaurant in the former Silver Spurs diner space at Houston and LaGuardia Place. Bowery Boogie is bitter about it, but it seems like good news to me.

••• And Van Leeuwen (above) is opening an ice cream shop at 45 Spring (Mulberry) on April 19—with another one in Soho to follow in coming months. On one hand, it’s probably great that all of this ice cream is just far enough away. Still, could we get a shop in Tribeca proper? —New York Times

  1. I have been complaining about the lack of an ice cream shop in Tribeca for years!

  2. Odeon does have an ice cream cart out in the warmer months and the ice cream is quite good.
