Seen & Heard: Brooklyn Chop House Has Opened

••• “The remainder of Cortlandt Way between 3 and 4 WTC opened this morning,” reported Anthony yesterday.

••• From the Downtown Alliance: “As of this morning, The Downtown Connection bus has resumed service to the five stops adjacent to The Battery. Service was briefly suspended over the past few weeks as a pilot program to prohibit the misuse of the buses by aggressive ticket sellers during the height of the tourist season. We will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that we are providing the community with the best possible service.”

••• Also from the Downtown Alliance: “Brooklyn Chop House opens its doors today at 150 Nassau [a.k.a. the former Denny’s]. Owner Robert ‘Don Pooh’ Cummins honors his close relationship with Biggie Smalls by posting the rapper’s lyrics throughout the restaurant.” The dinner menu:

••• One more from the Downtown Alliance, which is firing on all burners: “Earlier this month, The Dapper Doughnut began serving their cake-style hot mini-doughnuts on the transit center’s street level concourse. With each handcrafted treat made to the customer’s order, the doughnut-making assembly line is as much a part of the experience as eating the finished product. Dapper offers 24 different toppings and sugars.”

••• Jenni Kayne on Harrison was a showroom when it opened—you could fondle the merch, but you had to order it online—but now it’s a full-fledged store. Other updates from Leo, the manager (whom many of you will know from his time at Otte): “Since we opened, we have launched a rewards program, a new furniture collection, expanded home apothecary line and received new decorative pieces as well as our fall collection.”
