I’ll try to see whether CB1 might share any info about the application (which would go a long way toward making the agenda useful). I’d guess this has to do with signage for the Luv Michael granola shop opening in the building (pictured above).

6) 131-135 Duane Street – Resolution

There’s an application with the Department of Buildings to add a six story, so maybe that’s what this is about? (I’ll ask.)

Pushed from last month, this is about the media between Church and Sixth across from 100 Franklin, whose developer, DDG, has said it’ll renovate the strip into a park.

3) District Needs Statement and review for FY 2020 – Discussion

1) District Needs Statement and Budget Requests for FY2020 – Resolution
2) DDC Work in Community District 1 – Discussion with DDC and Consolidated Edison

I don’t know if I’ll be able to make this meeting, but someone absolutely needs to grill the DDC about the Worth Street reconstruction, in particular the block between Church and W. Broadway that has been closed in both directions for at least eight months, despite promises it wouldn’t do such a thing. And if there’s another project coming up after the Worth and Warren reconstructions are done, we have a right to know. (When I tried asking a year or two ago, the rep said he didn’t know, which struck me at the time as ludicrous.)

10/23 CB 1 Monthly Meeting – 6:00 PM

All documents relating to the above agenda items are on file at the Community Board 1 office and are available for viewing by the public upon written request to man01@cb.nyc.gov. At all meetings, additional items may be raised as “New Business.”

  1. If you oppose the jail at 80 Centre Street, please note the following listing above:

    10/11 Landmarks & Preservation Committee – 6:00 PM
Location: Community Board 1 – Conference Room, 1 Centre Street, Room 2202A-North
    3) 80 Centre Street, application for landmark status – Resolution

  2. Do the neighborhood Chipotle outposts involved sell beer, margaritas, and have a daily happy hour? I don’t know, but some in the City sell beer, margaritas, and there was a happy hour trial run last summer. If not, maybe that’s the change.

    • If a restaurant wants to start serving alcohol for the first time, it needs a new liquor license (not a change of operation). And happy hour isn’t something the SLA concerns itself with. But it is possible that the Chipotles around here (save 281 Broadway) sold beer but not margaritas, and so they’d need to upgrade from a beer/wine license to a full liquor license. It sure would be nice if the agendas had a bit more info along these lines….

  3. I heard the finish date for the Worth Street project is 2021….
