Three-Level Art Complex to Open on Franklin Place

Yet another art-related business is staking a claim in northeast Tribeca—and this one will have its entrance on Franklin Place, the one-block private street between White and Franklin. NYA Gallery will have a 1,000-square-foot gallery on the ground floor of 9 Franklin Place (a.k.a. 373 Broadway, which will have an unrelated tenant in the Broadway storefront), 24 artist studios on the floor below that, and art-and-wine storage on the floor below that. It’s opening February 1, with a two-night event on February 7 and 8. Here’s the mission statement:

(An Artist-Led Gallery / Platform) To provide gallery exhibitions and an artist studio platform to artists looking to be in the New York Art Market, iPhone app and websites NewYorkART.com and 1stdibs.com

Our non-profit 501c3 foundation (Townley Arts foundation INC.) founded by Shane & Adela Townley was established for arts education and bringing art supplies to schools and hospitals in need.

Our mission is to bring national and international residences programs and to provide affordable artist studios in Manhattan to emerging artists looking to broaden their exposure and experiences in the art world and New York. The gallery donates 6 months of studio space every year.

We recently announced a partnership with ESKFF—Eileen Kaminsky Family Foundation 501c3 (ESKFF donates $500 in art supplies to every artist chosen for the residency programs in our facilities.)

All of the artists we feature are on NewYorkART.com, Artsy and 1stdibs.

We also have an iPhone APP which is downloaded all over the world.

Artists interested in expanding their networks to New York can contact us for more information: Application Process.

More when it opens….
