Seen & Heard: 787 Coffee new and open on Pearl

787 COFFEE NOW ON PEARL
787 Coffee at 66 Pearl — open from 8a to 1p as of now — harvests its own beans from its farm in Puerto Rico (field trip!) and is also now serving a Puerto Rican pastry baked daily: quesitos de guayaba. (It’s a crispy puff pastry wrapped around a two-tone filling of cream cheese and sweet guava — an islanders danish. There are also savory quesitos and other sweet variations.) The shops — there are now three in the city — first opened in 2017, but the farm was wiped out in Hurricane Maria. They are now getting back to business, even in these crazy times. More TK when we are all back to usual.

KRISPY KREME AT FULTON HUB
Spotted: the signs for the new downtown Krispy Kreme, which is making a comeback in the city.

MAKING WAY FOR CVS
The Mattress Firm store at Warren and Church has vacated the building to make way for a giant CVS; they still have a location at 874 Broadway at 18th Street, in case you are one of the few who has not been suckered by Casper yet.
