Bâtard has reopened, adding to an outdoor restaurant row on W. Broadway

Bâtard, the Michelin-starred restaurant run by Drew Nieporent and chef Markus Glocker, reopened on Friday and is serving on the sidewalk under the glow of the Liquor Store neon sign. It’s making for a great foodie scene on the top of West Broadway, with neighbors Tribeca Tavern and Frenchette both opened curbside nextdoor.

And since there’s no thru-traffic on that end of West Broadway due to Tribeca Park, and N. Moore does not run east, it’s actually rather pleasant to be in the street.

Hours at Bâtard are 4 to 9p, Tuesday through Saturday. (Takeout and delivery start at 4p, and seated reservations begin at 5p.) Make reservations on the site here, or call 212-219-2777. See the outdoor menu here. It’s more limited but still diverse and elegant. The manager said while he would rather be serving at full strength and inside, as was meant to be, service on the sidewalk has been casual and festive so far. 239 W. Broadway at the intersection of N. Moore.

The restaurant opened in 2014 and has snagged a Michelin star every year since as well as three stars from The New York Times and New York Magazine, and won the James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant in America in 2015 (Frenchette got it last year).
