FIELD TRIP: BIKE INTO FIRE ISLAND
It’s a bit of a production requiring cars and bikes, but cycling onto Fire Island is a real adventure that lets you explore the beach towns. You can also train, ferry and walk the same route.

Sophie’s Cuban, which was born downtown in 1997 and despite heavy losses after 9/11 continued to expand here, has closed its Chambers Street location permanently.
