Seen & Heard: Tribeca’s Kitchen gets a reno

TRIBECA’S KITCHEN RENOVATES FOR FUTURE DINERS
With indoor dining closed, the new interiors of Tribeca’s Kitchen are kind of a tease, but they look great — especially on a sunny day. Beverage director Tom Garvin saw me peering in the windows, and he allowed me to sneak in and grab a couple shots. It still feels like a diner, and preserves my favorite booths on the south side, but with a definite Williamsburg-modern upgrade.

PLAYGARDEN PREP GOES ONLINE
Playgarden Prep, the Montessori- based preschool on Franklin (they also have a school on the Upper East Side), launched an online learning platform last week, with video lessons, online worksheets and activities for kids between 2 and 4. It’s obviously designed for families keeping kids at home because of the pandemic, but it also allows the program to share its curriculum with families across the country. See more about it here.

A PEEK INSIDE HOPE
The Hope Building, the cast iron classic at 131 Duane, is still under wraps — and it looks like there’s a lot more work to do. Happened to get a glimpse of the interior the other day. The renovated building will contain lofts, retail and amenity space, and a new two-story rooftop penthouse with multiple outdoor terraces.

  1. We can’t wait until we can eat safely inside Tribeca Kitchen. The renovations look beautiful! My kids are hoping the Nutella French toast remains on the menu.
