Seen & Heard: Free lunch at Goldman

LUNCH IS ON GOLDMAN TODAY
Goldman Sachs has required its employees to come back to the office and to celebrate that fact, they have been hosting a “block party” at Brookfield all week (today is the last day) with free eats from Blue Smoke, Dr. Smood, Harry’s Italian, Pick-A-Bagel, Shake Shack, Vintry Fine Wines and others. Today is the last day. Hours are 2 to 5. There’s also live music. (Those are my cute neighbors who let me know about it!)

NOWHERE ON WOOSTER
A new weekends-only café that features Takahachi Bakery has opened in a Japanese maker space at 40 Wooster, just north of Grand. NowHere is a multipurpose hub for New York City-based Japanese creators from across all disciplines, and it has just added a coffee shop with espresso drinks and baked goods. NB: Hours are Friday to Sunday, 11a – 6p.

MORE LOCAL GIFTS FROM MACKENZIE SCOTT
The Museum of Chinese in America has received a $5 million donation from MacKenzie Scott (Bezos) to go towards its capital campaign for a permanent home. Scott donated $30 million to BMCC in an unprecedented gift for the CUNY school.

  1. The NowHere Hub space looks super cool. Checked out their website. The market / cafe looks great. Also, I walked through the Goldman block party to find a taxi earlier in week. I was wondering what was going on. Cute picture.
